Kiertopaine Oy – Over Half a Century of Progress

In 1969, Paavo W. Pirilä made a bold decision and founded a company named Kiertopaine. The first steps were taken with the sale of smoke diving equipment, and the office was in a prestigious spot on Pohjoisesplanadi in Helsinki. The warehouse was at various addresses in Helsinki, but the passion and vision were always in the same place – in Paavo’s mind.

1970s

Kiertopaine expanded its operations to include compressor sales, focusing particularly on vane compressors. This was a significant step toward a more diverse product range and a stronger position in the market.

1980s

The company’s story entered a new chapter when Yrjö Pirilä continued his father’s work alongside his sister Helena Käyhkön. At the same time, diaphragm pump sales began, which by the end of the decade had become the company’s largest product segment. In 1988, the warehouse and service operations moved to larger premises in Helsinki’s Pitäjänmäki district, marking growth and development.

2000s

In 2007, the office, warehouse, and service operations were consolidated into shared facilities in Koivuhaka, Vantaa, bringing efficiency and unity to the business. The very next year, in 2008, the pump range expanded further with the addition of Mouvex pumps and German Almatec diaphragm pumps.

2010s

In 2017, Kiertopaine’s story took a new turn when Banmark Oy Ab acquired its business operations. This brought new opportunities and further strengthened the company’s position.

2020s

In 2024, Kiertopaine relocated to Järvenpää. A new home, but the same principle: to provide customers with the best possible service and products. Over more than 50 years, Kiertopaine Oy has grown from a small smoke diving equipment supplier into a respected expert in pumps and industrial supplies, proudly carrying its history while looking confidently toward the future.
