Blackmer bitumen

NP Series

The Blackmer NP series vane pumps are versatile, self-priming and dry-running transfer pumps. They are ideal for applications where high tolerance to temperature, pressure or viscosity, as well as special sealing solutions, are required.

Structure and principle of operation

• Vane technology: The vanes on the pump rotor automatically adjust according to wear, ensuring consistent consistent performance and a long service life.
• Internal plain bearings: Self-lubricating bearings allow for maintenance-free operation and a long pump life. A small amount of pumped fluid is directed to lubricate the bearings, which forms a hydrodynamic film and reduces temperature rise.
• Dry-running duration: Self-adjusting vanes enable short-term dry running, making it easier to drain lines and prime the pump, for example.

• Body: Cast iron, ductile cast iron and AISI 316
• Bearings: Metalized carbon
• Slats: Bronze
• Gaskets: PTFE-impregnated braided gasket as standard
• Heating chambers: Available with steam or oil heating.

• Internal overpressure valve: Adjustable valve protects the pump and the entire system from overpressure
• Flange options: NPT internal threads and weldable flanges.
• Serviceability: The vanes can be replaced without having to disconnect the pump from the piping. The external bearings are insulated from the pumped media, which extends the service life and reduces the need for maintenance.
